Small Business Administration to host expo in Norwich next Tuesday
The Small Business Lending Expo on June 3 will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich.
NORWICH, Conn. — A Small Business Lending Expo will be held next Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon at Three Rivers Community College on New London Turnpike in Norwich.
The June 3 event will be hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Connecticut District Office. It is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.
There will be several dozen banks and lenders from throughout Connecticut coming to Norwich next Tuesday to meet with small business owners and those looking to become entrepreneurs.
People in attendance will be able to explore financing options, participate in workshops and speak with business resource providers.

The event is also being facilitated by the Connecticut Small Business Development Center, Connecticut Community Colleges, the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Norwich Chamber of Commerce and the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.
The two workshops being offered are “Knowing Your Numbers” at 9:30 a.m. and “Learning the Lending Process” at 10:30 a.m.

SBA Resource Partners and other local organizations will also be available to present information about free and confidential business counseling, mentorship and training services.
In a release, SBA Connecticut District Director Catherine Marx said that access to capital remains one of the biggest challenges that small businesses face.

“This expo is about building bridges between entrepreneurs and the financial tools they need to succeed,” Marx added.
Joe Ercolano, state director of the Connecticut Small Business Development Center, said the operation is proud to partner with SBA Connecticut.
“[We] appreciate the participation of more than two dozen SBA lenders who provide the capital and financial services required to fuel growth and success in our state’s small businesses,” Ercolano said. “They are a vital instrument for community and economic development and a key to individuals achieving their business and personal goals.”
