Governor Kelly Armstrong issues proclamation recognizing the ND SBDC’s impact on small business growth

NORTH DAKOTA – On March 19, 2025, the North Dakota Small Business Development Centers (ND SBDC) will join nearly 1,000 SBDC centers across the country in celebrating the 8th annual SBDC Day, a national event recognizing the invaluable contributions of Small Business Development Centers in supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses.
In honor of the ND SBDC’s role in fostering business success across the state, Governor Kelly Armstrong has issued a proclamation officially recognizing SBDC Day in North Dakota. This proclamation highlights the ND SBDC’s dedication to empowering small businesses, which are the driving force of the state’s economy.
A Proven Track Record of Business Support
Since 1986, the ND SBDC has been a trusted resource for small business owners and entrepreneurs, providing expert advising and training. In 2024 alone, the ND SBDC helped 1,854 entrepreneurs and small business owners create and retain jobs, secure essential financing and launch new ventures, strengthening local economies statewide.
“Our mission is to help North Dakota’s entrepreneurs thrive, and we are honored to be recognized by Governor Armstrong for the impact we make,” said ND SBDC State Director Tiffany Ford. “SBDC Day is a moment to celebrate the resilience and success of small businesses—not just in North Dakota, but across the country.”
A Nationwide Celebration of Small Business Success
SBDC Day is an annual, national celebration that showcases how SBDCs help businesses start, grow, and succeed. America’s SBDC network—supported by the U.S. Congress, the Small Business Administration (SBA), state governments, universities and local organizations—assists over 300,000 small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs each year.
As part of the 8th annual SBDC Day, the ND SBDC will highlight success stories, client achievements and community partners through a social media campaign.
Helping North Dakota’s Entrepreneurs Thrive
The ND SBDC is a statewide outreach program of the Center for Business Engagement & Development within the Nistler College of Business & Public Administration at the University of North Dakota. The network offers confidential, no-cost business advising and training to help small businesses overcome challenges, scale operations, and navigate financial and regulatory landscapes.
ND SBDC services are provided at no cost to clients, thanks to funding from the SBA, the Bank of North Dakota and local supporters across the state.
